MEET OUR TEAM

Dennis Canfield

Founder & President

Dennis Canfield has worked across multiple levels of hockey, including Junior A, NCAA, professional hockey, scouting, player evaluation, coaching, recruiting, and hockey operations.

Most recently, Dennis served as Interim Head Coach & General Manager of the Minnesota Mallards in the NAHL after previously serving as Director of Scouting & Assistant General Manager for the New Jersey Titans. Prior to his work in junior hockey management, Dennis coached NCAA hockey as an Assistant Coach at Buffalo State, where he was involved in player development, recruiting, evaluation, and day-to-day hockey operations.

Dennis also brings firsthand experience as a player, having competed in Junior A hockey, at the NCAA level, and professionally. That combination of playing, NCAA coaching, scouting, recruiting, and management experience gives him a comprehensive understanding of the challenges players and families face as they navigate the hockey development and advancement process.

A Buffalo native, Dennis founded 716 Sports Management to provide players and families with honest guidance, experienced evaluation, and a clear strategy for long-term development and advancement. His approach is centered on helping each player identify the right opportunities and make informed decisions both on and off the ice.
